Dear Chatham County Community,

The Chatham Health Alliance is your local community coalition. For the last decade the Alliance has strived to improve the health and lives of everyone in Chatham County. In light of the changing political and community landscape we are reaffirming our dedication to the community, our focus on improving community access to needed resources, and our commitment to supporting underserved communities and communities most affected by federal funding cuts and policy changes.

We want to acknowledge the fear, uncertainty, and disruption that community members are experiencing due to sweeping funding and policy changes. We see how these shifts are having real and immediate impacts on our daily lives and our ability to serve and support one another. Local organizations are struggling to maintain services while individuals and families face growing barriers to care. Limited access to healthcare and essential resources is actively harming our community. Significant cuts to food programs are leaving many families in Chatham County without the food they need. Ongoing threats to immigrants, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and women are causing fear and instability throughout our community. The Chatham Health Alliance recognizes that these challenges are creating a shared sense of urgency and vulnerability.

This letter is a commitment to you, our community, that the Alliance will continue to serve everyone in Chatham County. We will work to bring you regular news releases and policy updates that are nonpartisan and clear. We will continue to support efforts that increase accessible and affordable resources and healthcare. We will partner with local community organizations to create and provide safe spaces for everyone in our community to gather and engage. We will continue to be a coalition where community members and organizations come together to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone in our community. We will see you and we will listen to you. Thank you for being part of our community.
